Ryan Seacrest is an award-winning businessman, producer, television host, radio personality and philanthropist, who first entered public consciousness as the host of music competition American Idol, and has held that position – first as co-host, then as sole host starting from the second season – since 2002.
Seacrest launched his career on radio with WSTR-FM in Atlanta before moving to Hollywood for a shot at broadcasting. Today, he hosts the nationally syndicated morning show On Air with Ryan Seacrest for KIIS-FM, as well as the countdown program American Top 40.
He is host of ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rocking Eve with Ryan Seacrest, E! Live from the Red Carpet and the co-host of ABC’s syndicated morning talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan, along with Kelly Ripa. In addition to his hosting duties, he acts as an executive producer for all three shows.
Seacrest is the founder of Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP), which was founded in 2006, and produces the highly influential hit reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which is the highest rated program on E! and a cultural touchstone in the reality programming sphere. RSP also produces for Bravo, Youtube Red, CMT and Netflix. RSP earned an Emmy Award for producing the ABC show Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. Seacrest himself has been nominated for over a dozen Emmy Awards for his work on American Idol and Live with Kelly and Ryan.
As a philanthropist, Seacrest operates the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a non-profit with nine centers in children hospitals situated in Boston, Cincinnati, Colorado, Dallas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Seacrest’s hometown of Atlanta.
