Isabel dos Santos has been in the business world for more than 20 years. According to different financial journals, she is one of the few women that redefined stock markets around the globe through injecting professionalism in this market. In her home country Angola, Isabel is synonymous with economic empowerment among the women. The following are three ways in which Isabel has changed the world of women.
First, she is one of the most vocal gender-equity advocates — on women social and economic empowerment. She understands that Beijing aspirations of an equitable world can only happen in an economically equitable world. Therefore, Isabel dos Santos has advocated women empowerment in the following platforms. She is a regular speaker in different global forums. One of her major concerns is how the world can assist women to invest and be financially independent. As one of the professionals with a huge passion for women rights, she is also a writer on different issues affecting women. In 2017, the UN Department for gender equality adopted one of her papers in their 2020 aspirations.
Today is the International Day of Women in ICT. I am proud to say that at #Unitel, about 40% of our managers are women. The world remains full of prejudices about what career women may or may not follow, but we Unitel believe in women. We changed many lives. Watch Josina’s story pic.twitter.com/rhp1K4zC5Q

Second, Isabel understands the importance of tangible projects in achieving economic equity for women. Although most women in Africa are not at par with their counterparts in education, Isabel dos Santos believes that there are some projects that can reduce the gap. One of these projects in agriculture. Isabel understands that agriculture is still one of the economies with huge potential in Angola. As part of her mission, she assists women on different agricultural projects. For young people, she understands that technology and related niches can assist the young population in changing Africa’s directed in growth.
Thirdly, sponsoring and working on different projects — as an investor — is Isabel’s third interest in Africa. She understands that sometimes, funding is a problem in this continent. She, however, works with different professionals in identifying potential projects and more importantly, projects that can change the future of Africa. Some of the projects that Isabel dos Santos has personally sponsored are agri-business ventures in Angola. Even though she is an engineer by profession, she understands the importance of agriculture in food security and more importantly — in ensuring women have monetary independence. In addition, she contributes to charity projects — as a philanthropist. Website: https://www.isabeldossantos.com/
