Internet Explodes Over Corn on the Cob

Summer is officially in full swing, and with that comes all the perks including warm weather, trips to the beach, and cookouts. In my family, corn on the cob is a staple at all of our summer cookouts. While nothing beats a hot piece of corn slathered in butter, I think we all can agree that eating corn on the cob is not the easiest thing to do. It seems that a solution to this may have been found, and the internet is going crazy over it.
You can read more on the full technique here on BuzzFeed. This hack was tweeted from Japan, and has quickly gone viral with over 40,000 retweets thus far. The basic idea is that you need to create a little space in your corn cob by removing a few pieces and then you will be able to simply place your thumb on a row of corn, push it towards the empty space, and voila! The corn comes out in one piece.
To me, this seems like it would be messier than the traditional way of eating corn on the cob because it requires you to eat the small pieces of corn with your fingers. This could be an issue if you love butter on your corn like I do. It also seems like more work, and less fun. I can see it being very time consuming to peel off individual rows of corn. Summer is all about being carefree, and nothing says carefree like tearing into fresh corn on the cob with your teeth.
