Elected as the Chief Financial Officer of Willis Towers Watson, Michael Burwell is now the leader of one of the world’s leading advisory, broking, and solutions company. Chief Executive Officer John Haley says, “We are excited to have Mike join our leadership team at an important point in our company’s evolution.” Burwell has now served as the current CFO as of October 2017 replacing Roger Millay who retired voluntarily as of October 2, 2017.
Before his time with Willis Towers Watson, Burwell obtained ample amounts of finance and professional experience totaling in 31 years (11 years of audit and 12 years of transaction services) as well as becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1986. Then in 2005, Burwell was promoted to the US leader of transactions in the greater New York area to then later contribute to PwC as the CFO, COO, Global and US Transformations Leader. He was able to achieve overseeing a diverse group of internal functions where he focused on Human Capital, Finance, Technology and Global Strategic Sourcing. Burwell also served as a partner in the company before being appointed the position of CFO at Willis Towers Watson.
