The president of Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters (MIAL) Nancy LaForge said that Ivy deserved the award for making architecture accessible to the people. Carl Elefante, the president of The American Institute of Architects (AIA), congratulated Robert stating that he has been a praiseworthy ambassador of the architectural profession and has contributed incalculably to the success of the field as an author and architect.

Besides being the recent recipient of the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award, Robert Ivy is a reputed figure in the architectural world. He has undertaken many platforms to make architectural information accessible to the general community. Mr. Ivy served as the Editor-in-chief of McGraw Hill’s Architectural Record. Under his leadership, the journal went on to reach many readers and become a standard journal for readers interested in architectural work. With his expertise and knowledge, Robert went on to be elected as the Chief Executive of the AIA. As the CEO of the American Institute of Architect, he achieved the unimaginable with the organization attaining its highest number of members since its establishment.
